When a Little Child Hugged a Box of Cereal
Updated: Sep 14, 2020
As a member of the Utica Food Pantry's board of directors, you could make a real difference in a child's life.
Kim Mattia helps move boxes of food during a recent drive-through giveaway.
The Utica Food Pantry’s treasurer Kim Mattia said she’s felt a great sense of satisfaction when she’s seen people in our community receiving what they desperately need. She recalls a time when she was helping at the pantry and saw a little child hug a box of cereal. That's when she knew she was devoting her time to a worthy cause.
Once a month, board members spend time at the pantry observing how it works and helping out. They also attend monthly board meetings where they offer ideas for fundraisers, giveaways, and other suggestions for how the pantry can be helpful to the community.
UFP is open to new members joining our Board of Directors. Now in a time of transition to new ideas and technology, we’re looking for individuals with a vision for the future. If you believe in our mission and want to make a real impact, we’d love to talk to you. Please email us at email@example.com.
